How Ashwagandha Improves Testosterone Levels?
The good news is, ashwagandha has been deeply researched when it comes to improving testosterone levels.
A study found that when untrained men supplemented with ashwagandha, and took part in resistance training, their testosterone levels increase by 15%.
That’s not to be sniffed at. 15% is a lot when we’re looking at testosterone levels.
This could mean the participants felt stronger, improved their lean muscle mass along with a higher sex drive.
Increased levels of Testosterone via Ashwagandha
As you can see from the graph above, after 90 days, the group supplementing with ashwagandha saw a noticeable increase compared to the placebo group.
This goes to show hat ashwaganda can be used to increase testosterone levels to some degree.
What we need to bear in mind is: The study was carried out using untrained men with very low testosterone levels.
For relatively healthy men who already exercise, and eat healthy meals, the changes might not be as apparent.
Improved levels of Serum via Ashwagandha
Not only did the testosterone levels of men increased when using ashwagandha, their sperm level and quality also increased.
This proved that supplementing with ashwaghand worked for men who were borderline infertile.
Will Ashwagandha Work For Everyone?
The problem with this study highlighted above was one thing: the men in the study were almost infertile before they began supplementation with ashwagahnda.
While their testosterone levels did improve, with a surprising increase in serum amount and quality, it’s unlikely the same effects could be met with men who are already at normal, or sub-par levels.
What does all of this mean?
This basically means that no studies have yet been carried out on men who were not infertile, or with very low levels of testosterone.
We’ve yet to see more comprehensive studies done on a more broader group of individuals.
It’s also worth mentioning that the men supplementing with ashwagandha also began a strength training program, which could have also increased their testosterone levels naturally.
Strength Training Can Also Increase T Levels Naturally
Strength training on its own has been a huge benefit to men all over the world looking to increase testosteron levels without supplementation – being successful in ten process.
To summarise, ashwagandha does see, to help stimulate some testosterone production in men with extremely low levels of testosteron.
