From Vigor Labs comes Black Antler, a product that is aimed at improving performance, testosterone levels, and joint health in men.
It has a quite interesting ingredient profile – using Deer Antler Velvet as its main compound.
However, all of the ingredients are a part of a proprietary blend, which raises the question; “Are the doses effective?”
Let’s find that out, along with Black Antler’s side effects, ingredients, and more!
Pros and Cons of Black Antler by Vigor Labs
While there are some good things about Black Antler, there are just as many, if not more negative sides to it. Have a look:
- Simple to take if you’re a busy person
- Uses Maca which improves libido
- Contains ingredients that help with joint health
- Too few daily servings to have any major impact on performance or hormone levels
- Missing Key Performance and Hormone-Boosting Ingredients (Vitamin D3, DAA, Fenugreek)
- All ingredients are a part of a proprietary blend
- Uses Tribulus which causes prostate enlargement in men
Black Antler is primarily a performance enhancing supplement that helps with your bodybuilding goals.
As such, it claims to give you these benefits;
- Improved Strength and Energy Levels
- Healthy Hormone Levels
- Less Joint Pain
Dosage | How To Use
We were hoping to see an optimal number of daily servings in Black Antler, however, that’s not the case here.
You’re to take 2 capsules of the product daily, and that’s it. While it’s a simple and easy way to take a supplement, it’s not really that great for your hormones and muscle growth. Why?
Well, think about it – if you take a supplement like Black Antler only once per day, how long can its effects really last? A few hours at most.
Best testosterone boosters and performance-enhancing supplements use several daily servings for a good reason – they keep your testosterone and strength elevated throughout the day and night.
You want at least 3 servings per day to experience long-lasting benefits in a product like Black Antler.
Still, this doesn’t make Black Antler by Vigor Labs a complete write off; it’s the ingredients that will ultimately govern the quality and effectiveness of this product.
It’s a brave decision by Vigor Labs to go against the grain with their ingredient choice.
You won’t find your typical T-booster or performance enhancing ingredients in Black Antler. Such as Vitamin D3, D-Aspartic Acid, or Fenugreek Extract.
Instead, Black Antler contains Deer Antler Velvet, Glucosamine Sulfate, and Chondroitin Sulfate, among few other ingredients. But are they enough to give you the results you want?
We don’t think so! Most of the ingredients aren’t supported by research, which means you’ll be taking a bunch of unresearched ingredients, some of which are even dangerous for health (yes, we’re talking about Tribulus).
But this isn’t the worst part. When you take a closer look, you’ll notice that all of Black Antler’s ingredients are a part of a proprietary blend. In other words, you can’t see the dosage of any of the ingredient in the product.
It’s a really disappointing show by Vigor Labs – not only did they use ineffective and potentially harmful ingredients, they’ve also opted for underhanded tactics where they hide their ingredients from you to see.
Black Antler™ Proprietary Blend (550mg)
Deer Antler Velvet
When a young male deer grows older, its antlers get bigger and firmer. To aid this process, their body starts producing a velvety substance which contains natural growth factors.
People harvest it from deer each year, and use it for supplements such as Black Antler. It’s said to promote muscle building, fat loss, and testosterone levels in men when ingested.
However, none of this is proved by science. If we look at the studies, you’ll see that there’s no real proof of deer antler velvet giving humans any of these benefits.
There is some evidence that it can help with joint health, but that’s as far as it goes.
Glucosamine Sulfate 2KCI
Glucosamine Sulfate is a great natural supplement for joint health. It’s a natural sugar found in your cartilage.
Supplementing Glucosamine Sulfate will help you ease joint pain, especially if you have arthritis. Other than that, there’s not much benefit to taking it.
Similarly to Glucosamine, Chondroitin Sulfate is a natural compound found in the joint tissue in your body.
It’s typically supplemented to help with osteoarthritis and other joint problems.
Tribulus Terrestris (fruit)
Tribulus Terrestris is an ingredient we weren’t happy to see in Black Antler.
It’s supposed to help promote testosterone levels, but there’s no evidence that supports this.
What’s worse, Tribulus is notorious for causing prostate problems in men. So unless you want a visit to a urologist, stay away from this ingredient.
Rhodiola Rosea (root)
Rhodiola Rosea is a well-known adaptogen that has been used by humans for thousands of years.
And we can see why Vigor Labs have put it in Black Antler; it’s natural, safe, and it gives some really nice benefits.
Think of Rhodiola Rosea as an extra layer of protection against stress. It contains compounds which tell your body to produce less cortisol, increasing its resistance to external stressors.
And since cortisol negatively affects male hormone levels, Rhodiola Rosea makes a great ingredient to combat this!
However, it only works at the right dosages – since we can’t see how much of Rhodiola Rosea is inside Black Antler due to the proprietary blend, we can’t tell if it will work or not.
Another great natural ingredient, Maca is a famous aphrodisiac used by humans for thousands of years.
It enhances your libido, sex drive, and can even improve energy levels to some extent.
Overall, it’s a great ingredient for both men and women – we only wish it wasn’t a part of a proprietary blend in Black Antler.
Wild Yam Root
Unless you’re a woman, this ingredient won’t have any real benefit for you – it’s a natural compound used for menopausal problems.
You’ll be glad to hear that there are no serious side effects reported from taking Black Antler.
The only concern with this product lies in one of its ingredients – Tribulus Terrestris.
If you’re unsure if you’ll be able to tolerate its aggressive effects on prostate, make sure to consult your doctor before taking it!
