Cellucor is a huge name in the sports supplement industry, known for their wide range of products. They’ve been around for quite a while now, and are known for their high standards and quality when it comes to their supplements.
So will P6 Chrome live up to the Cellucor’s reputation, or is it just a hyped-up product with no real results? We’ve made sure to answer this question in our review, taking a look at the products ingredients, side effects, dosage, and more.

Pros and Cons of Cellucor P6 Chrome
P6 Chrome by Cellucor would be a great product, if its ingredients didn’t come as a part of a proprietary blend. This would show us their dosages and we would be able to clearly see how effective they are.
But since we can’t see the dosages of these ingredients, it’s impossible to determine whether this supplement will work or not.
Also, the product uses only 1 daily serving which isn’t enough to keep your testosterone levels topped up for longer than a few hours.
Lastly, P6 Chrome is missing several key T-boosting ingredients, including Vitamin D3, Zinc, and D-Aspartic Acid.
- Ashwagandha helps combat stress
- Fenugreek boosts libido and testosterone
- All ingredients are part of a proprietary blend, making it impossible to determine their individual dosages and effectiveness
- Incomplete profile – missing Zinc and Vitamin D3, 2 important T-boosters
- Uses only 1 serving a day, not enough to affect your T-levels in the long run
- Users have reported negative side effects from taking the product
Cellucor P6 Chrome claims to;
- Support Testosterone Production
- Improve Muscle Mass
- Control Estrogen
Now, as always, we need to check the dosage and ingredients of this supplement to determine whether its claims are true.
Let’s have a look;
Dosage | How To Use
I was disappointed to see that Cellucor P6 Chrome uses only 1 serving (2 capsules) a day.
While it might sound simple – popping a few pills in the morning and that’s it – it’s not actually the best way to dose a testosterone booster. In fact, it’s the worst way to do it.
If you’re familiar with how testosterone boosters work, then you know that more daily ingredients translate to better results in the long run.
With only 1 serving, Cellucor’s P6 Chrome is only likely to give you a short spike in testosterone, which won’t last long enough to seriously affect your hormone levels.
We were hoping that P6 Chrome’s ingredients will be able to cover up its dosage flaws, but this isn’t the case.
Cellucor P6 Chrome is basically one proprietary blend – several ingredients mixed together that don’t show their individual dosages.
This makes it hard to determine how effective these ingredients will be. For all we know, they can be underdosed, or even dangerously overdosed.
Honestly, we were expecting much more from a company as big as Cellucor.
Ashwagandha, or Withania Somnifera, is a popular supplement choice among athletes, and for a good reason. This herb is an adaptogen, which means it reduces cortisol and other stress hormones that negatively impact your testosterone.
So in a nutshell, Ashwagandha helps with counteracting the negative effects of stress hormones. Better yet, it’s shown to increase levels of the Luteinizing Hormone, which is a precursor to testosterone.
Although Ashwagandha doesn’t boost testosterone directly, its benefits definitely make it a worthy addition to a testosterone booster.
However, since Cellucor P6 Chrome have included Ashwagandha in a proprietary blend, it’s impossible to tell what its dosage is and if it will work at all.
Fenugreek is one of the best ingredients you’ll find in a testosterone booster. Why?
Well, it doesn’t only boost your T-levels, but it’s also a decent libido enhancer. Also, unless you’re a fan of Indian cuisine, chances are you aren’t getting enough of this herb through your diet – making supplementation a great way to combat this.
How it works, you ask? Well, Fenugreek works by lowering your insulin levels, which subsequently drops the level of Sex Hormone Binding Globulin. This is great, because SHBG bounds to free testosterone making it unusable by the body.
Tribulus Alatus Fruit Extract
I have to admit, I almost laughed when I saw the word ‘Tribulus’ listed among Cellucor P6 Chrome’s ingredients. That’s because Tribulus Terrestris, the herb’s relative, is completely ineffective at boosting testosterone, and yet supplement companies stubbornly put it in their products.
However, Tribulus Alatus which is in this product may be better than it’s ugly cousin Terrestris. Some early evidence shows that Tribulus Alatus can increase free testosterone due to its androgenic properties.
However, the studies on this are scarce and we need more evidence to prove if this is actually true.
And not to forget, this ingredient, just like every other, is a part of Cellucor P6 Chrome’s proprietary blend. Which makes it impossible to determine if it uses an effective dose.
Agaricus Bisporus Fruit Extract
Also known by it’s more common name, White Button Mushroom, Agaricus Bisporus is an aromatase inhibitor. In other words, it suppresses estrogen production, which can lead to an increase in testosterone levels.
However, the only studies we have regarding this ingredient have been done on post-menopausal women. Which makes it very unreliable for boosting testosterone.
DIM is found in foods such as broccoli, cauliflower, kale, and other cruciferous vegetables. Its active component is called I3C. It works by stopping the Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin from binding to testosterone.
However, in too high doses, DIM has shown to promote estrogen production in men, which isn’t a good thing. This can lead to a number of side effects, from ‘man boobs’ to prostate issues.
And since we can’t tell what the dosage of DIM is in Cellucor P6 Chrome, it’s advisable to avoid this ingredient altogether.
What Others Say
“I wish I can get my money back, I recommend to don’t buy this product, I‘m 100% healthy person and I don’t feel any sensation of nothing!” – ORene21 (Bodybuilding.com Customer)
“If you’ve never done a test booster before and you want to try one. Try this one. Lift more, longer see results quick. The only downside was some issues with mood swings but go for it.” – e3orbelow
Some users reported experiencing severe mood swings from taking Cellucor’s P6 Chrome.
Other than that, we’re happy to report that there are no side effects linked to this product.
Conclusion to Cellucor P6 Chrome
So there you have it, this was our full and in-depth review on Cellucor P6 Chrome. We were quite disappointed with the product, considering it’s been produced by a brand as big as Cellucor.
It’s lacking a few important ingredients, like Vitamin D3, D-Aspartic Acid, and Zinc. To add insult to injury, all of the ingredients are masked under a proprietary blend, so you can’t see their individual dosages.
While the product does use some promising ingredients, such as Ashwagandha and Fenugreek, they too are hidden in a proprietary blend which makes their efficacy questionable.
As a result, we advise researching your options before choosing Cellucor P6 Chrome.
