So, if you had to choose, the best time to take a T-booster is right before you go to bed. 

After you hit the sack, your body will start repairing itself, including muscle which greatly benefits from elevated testosterone levels – which is exactly what you’re giving it with a testosterone booster.

To quickly recap; If you can only take a T-booster once per day, then take it right before you go to sleep. This is when the process of muscle growth begins, so you want to ensure your T-levels stay as high as possible during this period.


How to Tell if a T-Booster Works

It’s not just about asking yourself should you take a testosterone booster before or after workout. You should also check for the quality of a T-booster itself.

It’s simple, just follow this process;

Other questions you need to ask yourself are;

  • Is the company that I’m buying from reliable?
  • What do other customers say about the product?
  • What’s the price?

The price question will usually give you some general sense about the quality of a testo booster. If it’s a cheap product, it’s extremely unlikely that it will contain premium and high-quality ingredients.

So don’t hesitate to spend an extra dollar for better, safer, and more effective ingredients. At least you’ll know you didn’t waste your money – unlike with cheap testo boosters.

Checking the Ingredients

Again, ingredients are the most important thing about a T-booster. I don’t care how fancy the package might look like; if the ingredients are crap, the results of that T-booster will be crap also.

First off, you should look closely at each ingredient on the label. Pay special attention to dosages, as this is equally important as the ingredient itself. Make sure that each ingredient is clinically tested, and comes in safe and effective dosages.

If an ingredient is underdosed, it will be a waste of money on your side. Or worse yet, if it’s overdosed, you might be in trouble from the health side effects.

For example, zinc is an awesome ingredient which is shown to greatly boost testosterone levels. However, when taken in dosages higher than 50mg, it can cause severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, vomitting, and other stomach issues.

It’s shown to increase testosterone in sedentary men, and those who suffer from low T-levels. The optimal dose for D-AA is between 2,500-3,000mg daily. [8, 9]

Vitamin D3 

Also called the ‘sunshine vitamin,’ it’s responsible for modulating countless gene expressions in the body. From the immune system, to cardiovascular health, to testosterone.

In fact, low vitamin D levels are associated with a poor ability to fight pathogens and diseases, along with low testosterone levels. [10, 11, 12]

Optimal dosage for boosting testosterone? 5,000IU daily!


It helps to calm down the body, reducing cortisol and other stress hormones which damage your testosterone health.

By combating this, Ashwagandha improves the amount of free and total testosterone flowing through your blood. [13, 14, 15, 16]

The optimal dose for ashwagandha is between 750-1250mg daily. If you’re taking a higher dose, spread it out evenly throughout the day for optimal benefits.


A mineral that’s essential for countless bodily functions, and this includes testosterone production. Low zinc equals low testosterone. So better load up on that Zn asap! [17]

Studies have shown that anywhere between 10-20mg of zinc daily is enough to reap its benefits on testosterone.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that there’s a simple answer to this question. But, as you’ve seen from this article, there’s a lot more to it than meets the eye.

That said, the best option is to take it multiple times per day – 3 or 4 times, ideally. Which means, you take it both before, and after a workout.

Obviously, not everyone is able to take a testosterone booster 2-4 times per day. In such cases, it’s important to take your T-booster at an optimal time to reap its benefits. This optimal time window is after your workout, or even better, just before you go to sleep.

This will give your body the nutrients necessary to keep your testosterone elevated so the muscles can repair and grow while you sleep.

So unless you can get a minimum of 20 minutes of direct sunlight every day, consider taking a T-booster that contains vitamin D3.

You might have expected some fancy-schmancy name to be on the top of our list of the best T-ingredients, but the truth is, the simpler is sometimes the better – and that’s the case with zinc.

You see, zinc is absolutely essential for healthy testosterone levels and overall health. [15]

Fenugreek is different from zinc and vitamin D3, in that it’s a non-essential nutrient.

But this doesn’t mean you won’t experience any benefits from it. On the contrary, fenugreek is full of positive effects for men.

For example, zinc is absolutely safe and beneficial to your T-levels in doses between 10-20mg per day. However, doses higher than 50mg, taken over a long period of time, can cause severe diarrhea, vomiting, and even copper deficiency.

So always make sure to read the dosage of each ingredient – and follow what it says on the label.

Anyways, here are Tribulus and Shijalit explained in more detail;

  • Tribulus Terrestris – It’s not only ineffective at raising testosterone, but it also increases the risk of prostate enlargement. The only thing you’ll experience from taking this fella is going to the doctor for a prostate check-up.
  • Shilajit – Shilajit is known for containing heavy metals. These are extremely toxic to our bodies. In fact, Canada has banned Shilajit production precisely for this reason.

Dosage | How To Use

As there is no actual dosage advice given by the makers of testosterone Up, Irwin Naturals (slightly suspicious), we can only assume the dosage is once a day taking 3 capsules per time.

However, some customers report side effects such as a racing heart and anxiety after taking 3 capsules in one go. It’s suggested to spread out the dosage throughout the day to test your tolerance.

Testosterone Up  Ingredients

As you can see from the list of ingredients, testosterone Up contains very few ingredients that will boost your testosterone.

On the other hand, Irwin Naturals Testosterone Up contains a high dose of zinc – 30mg. While this is a tolerable dose for most people, some might experience nausea, cramps, vomitting, and severe stomach discomfort for hours. The optimal dosage for supplementing zinc is around 20mg daily.

If you are someone who’s concerned about your overall health, then good news. There’s been positive reports linked to nettle, and pumpkin seed oils for helping the blood flow. Copper – This mineral has been shown to slow down bone loss, and improve the treatment of Alzheimer’s patients. However, it shows no signs of improving testosterone levels, making it useless as a T-boosting ingredient.

“While vital, it appears to be sufficient in the human diet and water supply with little evidence concerning its usefulness as a supplement.”

MCT – Medium-chain triglycerides are a class of saturated fat composed of fatty acids containing 6-10 carbons. They are found primarily in coconut oil, palm kernel oil, and dairy fat, and they appear to benefit fat loss to a minor extent when consumed in place of other dietary fat. [3]

Pumpkin SeedThis healthy seed can help treat numerous illnesses, as it contains powerful fatty acids, which are vital for good health and vitality. However, there has been no direct link to the use of pumpkin seeds and increasing testosterone levels. [4]

Nettle – Stinging Nettle is not only a plant that causes stings and skin irritation, it’s also used for oral consumption. Even though it has been used to treat illnesses such as the common cold, it’s not your most potent T-enhancer. But it can help to reduce prostate size and swelling. [6]

Other Ingredients

Plant Sterols – Plant sterols will lower LDL Cholesterol, but they will not increase testosterone. Perhaps it will have the opposite effect, as even a little bit of cholesterol is vital for increasing testosterone levels. [5]

Tribulus – This adaptogen has been used widely around the world for centuries to treat men with low libido. While it does work, it’s advised to be very careful with the length of time you supplement with tribulus, as it could cause the enlargement of your prostate.

Ginseng – Asian ginseng will lift you up mentally, and physically. It will also help to raise your testosterone levels. It’s a no brainier when considering the use of ginseng, we highly recommend it. [7]

LJ100 – Longkag Ali may reduce the amount of estrogen flowing through your body, which could be good if you are a man that deals with large amounts of stress. But as a testosterone booster, there have been no studies to show it’s beneficial in this department. [8]

Chrysin – This is a compound that is originally found in propolis (extracted from bee hives). It can increase testosterone levels, but only when injected directly into the testicles, otherwise it’s difficult to absorb into the body.

Gamma – Gamma will lower your cholesterol, but it will not boost your testosterone levels.

Testosterone Up is a confusing supplement. It contains ingredients that have been linked to increasing testosterone production such as ginseng, and zinc, but then on the other hand, it has ingredients that could possibly reduce testosterone levels. Such as Gamma, which reduces cholesterol.

Without enough cholesterol in our bodies, it will be impossible for testosterone levels to increase past their current amount. This is why it makes no sense as to why testosterone Up contains an ingredient that promotes the reduction of cholesterol.

It also contains Tribulus, which is notorious for causing prostate enlargement in some men. It now makes sense when we see people typing “Irwin Naturals Testosterone Up side effects.”

Overall, it’s an okay supplement for general health and energy, and possibly a small spike in sex drive via Tribulus, but will it improve the amount of free flowing testosterone you have over a long period? We think not!

However, there are also some downsides to Blue Star Status. The first one its insanely high price of $70 for only 30 servings. It better be a revolutionary product, because such a high price demands top quality.

Secondly, we have a proprietary blend in Blue Star Status. Proprietary blends are mixes of ingredients which only show their combined dosages. But don’t show you their individual doses.

Lastly, Blue Star Status contains a high dosage of DIM – 108mg. Although this ingredient helps reduce estrogen in doses lower than 50mg, it does the opposite in higher doses – increasing estrogen and reducing testosterone. This leads to ‘man boobs’ and an enlarged prostate in some men. [4]

If you’re deficient in it, supplementing can boost your testosterone. A study from 2016 that tested the effectiveness of zinc supplementation found that men who had hypogonadism (testosterone deficiency) benefited the most from zinc supplementation [7].   • Magnesium – An essential mineral linked to relaxation, improved sleep, and better muscle functioning. One study found that men who take magnesium regularly have higher T-levels. However, those who train and take Mg supplements on top of that, experience the biggest benefits [8]. Status Blend

Unlike other proprietary blends, Blue Star Status have decided to reveal the ingredients and dosages in this blend.

It’s a great policy by Blue Star Nutraceuticals, one that more supplement companies should follow!

But that’s as good as it gets with Status Blend. In terms of ingredients themselves, we were quite disappointed.

None of the ingredients in the blend have any direct impact on testosterone. They only have some minor impact on cognition and general health.

See for yourself:

  • Ashwagandha (KSM-66) – An adaptogenic herb, it helps your body combat stress, along with improving stamina and libido. We can see how it can affect testosterone, by reducing cortisol in your body. However, studies are lacking in terms of Ashwagandha’s direct effect on testosterone levels.
  • Longjack Extract – Studies show it to be a potent libido and virility enhancer. It’s also good for anyone who’s suffering from erectile dysfunction, as it’s shown to greatly reduce the symptoms.
  • 3,3′ – Diindolylmethane (DIM) – In lower dose ranges, it’s a good aromatase inhibitor, meaning it prevents your testosterone from converting to estrogen. However, in doses higher than 50mg, it produces a countereffect – causing you to produce more of a female hormone. Since Blue Star Status has a whopping 108mg of DIM, it will likely cause you more harm than good.
  • Trigonella Foenum (Fenugreek) – Improves sex drive and libido in some men. It can also increase estrogen in doses higher than 500mg. Blue Star Status contains only 100mg – not even close to the optimal dosage.

XD Delivery Technology (Proprietary Blend)

Just when we thought that Blue Star Status uses fair and honest policy with their ingredients, we came across their XD Delivery Technology Blend.

This one, unlike their Status Blend, doesn’t show the dosage of the ingredients. This means, you’re left guessing how much of each ingredient is inside this blend.

On top of this, none of the ingredients in the blend have any effect on libido or testosterone whatsoever. Instead, they’re put for general health benefits and to promote the bioavailability of the other ingredients in Blue Star Status.

RSP Prime-T Dosage | How To Use

With RSP Prime-T, you’ll be taking 4 tablets of the product each night before bedtime. The supplement bottle contains 120 capsules.  Meaning, it will last you 30 days.

Unfortunately, 1 daily serving is not enough for optimal benefits on testosterone.

Let me explain why…

When you take a serving of a T-booster, you’ll experience an increase in testosterone shortly after. This effect will last for a couple of hours, depending on your metabolism and other factors.

So, in order to maintain this effect, you need to continue taking more servings throughout the day. Ideally, you want to take 3-4 daily servings. One in the morning, one in the afternoon, one in the evening, and one before bed.

However, these great ingredients are also accompanied by low-quality additives that lessen the overall quality of RSP Prime-T.

One of the main components of RSP Prime-T tablets is magnesium stearate, a chemical compound which hinders the bioavailability of other ingredients.

In other words, magnesium stearate makes it harder for your body to absorb some of these awesome ingredients – decreasing their effectiveness.

Here are the active ingredients of RSP Prime-T;

Vitamin D

This is possibly the most powerful natural testosterone booster available. If you’re deficient in vitamin D, your T-levels are doomed to plummet down. RSP Prime-T offers a good dose of vitamin D3 – 3000 IU (International Units).

However, it would be even better if it was slightly higher dosed, since studies show that vitamin D works optimally at dosages over 3,332IU. [4]

Vitamin B3

This vitamin helps you with energy metabolism, making it a better ingredient for a pre-workout rather than a testosterone booster.


Helps with muscle recovery and growth, but only if you’re deficient in it (most people who eat a diet containing animal proteins aren’t).

Vitamin B12

Similar to folate, this vitamin can only help you build muscle if you’re deficient in it. Usually, the only demographics who could be deficient in this vitamin are older people and vegans.


Comes in the citrate form, which is a good form of zinc. However, there are more bioavailable forms of zinc available, such as picolinate.

D-Aspartic Acid

This is the one ingredient I like. It’s a powerful testosterone regulator, and it can help you temporarily increase your testosterone levels. [7]

Fenugreek Extract

When used in conjunction with D-Aspartic Acid, Fenugreek extract can help support your testosterone levels.

It may also enhance your libido, and help with glucose metabolism. [5]

Maca Root Extract

Maca won’t do much for your testosterone, but it’s pretty effective for increasing libido and sex drive. [6]

DIM (3,3,’-Diindolylmethane)

DIM is a compound found naturally in vegetables such as broccoli and cauliflower. It inhibits aromatase, the enzyme that converts testosterone to estrogen. It’s a good ingredient for balancing testosterone-estrogen ratio.

However, in doses higher than 100mg, it produces the counter effect – converting your testosterone to female sex hormones. This can increase your belly size and cause ‘man boobs.’ [8]

RSP Prime T side effects aren’t currently known with this compound. It contains 100mg of DIM, which is extremely close to being too much.

Safed Musli Extract

An herb traditionally used in Indian medicine, Safed Musli is an aphrodisiac and adaptogen.

Some people also claim that this herb is a testosterone booster. However, there’s no scientific evidence to back this up.

Boron Citrate

Alongside Zinc and D-Aspartic Acid, this is my favorite ingredient in RSP Prime-T.

It is a potent testosterone regulator which works similarly to DIM; balancing the ratio between testosterone and estrogen.

However, it has no side effects in higher dosages like DIM. In fact, you need to take at least 10mg of boron daily to experience all of its goodness on testosterone.

Bioperine (Black Pepper Extract)

Although Bioperine doesn’t have any testosterone boosting properties, I’m glad to see this ingredient in RSP Prime-T.

Why, you ask?

Well, think of Bioperine as the opposite of magnesium stearate. Instead of hindering the bioavailability of other ingredients, Bioperine enhances it – making other testo boosters more powerful.

Side effects of RSP Prime-T

RSP Prime-T side effects is a hot topic right now.

While most users claim that it doesn’t give them any negative side effects, there are some who claim otherwise.

Science Behind RSP Prime-T Side Effects

We’ve taken a look at the research behind Prime-T’s ingredients, and most of them are safe.

However, there is one ingredient in RSP Prime-T which can cause side effects in men. It’s DIM.

You see, Prime-T contains 100mg of DIM. Which is just on the edge of being too much – causing estrogen production in males.

Modern studies show that higher doses of DIM cause increased estrogen production. Which in turn leads to side effects such as enlarged prostate, excess belly fat, and man boobs. [8]

While science still isn’t clear on whether 100mg of DIM is a safe dose, I suggest playing it safe if you’re anxious about side effects from this ingredient.

Conclusion to RSP Prime-T

This is a product with a wasted potential.

It has some great ingredients, such as boron, zinc, and D-Aspartic Acid. These are among the most effective natural testosterone enhancers out there.

However, here’s the problem with RSP Prime-T: it contains magnesium stearate, which is notorious for causing diarrhea and stomach cramps in some people.

What’s worse, RSP Prime-T offers only 1 daily serving. This is not enough to keep your testosterone levels elevated throughout the day. For such an effect, you need 3-4 servings every day.

Among all of this, Prime-T also contains a high dose of DIM – 100mg. This is right on the border or being too much, causing increased estrogen in men and leading to ‘man boobs.’  It’s clear Prime-T side effects are not to joke with.

With all of this in mind, I’d suggest checking for safe and reliable testosterone supplements before choosing RSP Prime-T.

Let’s break it down quickly… You cannot effectively build muscle when in an overly stressed state.

Okay, when you go to the gym and lift weights you’re putting your body into a stressed state – this is true.

But too much stress and you’ll only end up going around in circles, never building the muscle you’d hoped for.

Does this sound familiar to you?…

Outside of the gym, you’ll eat well, sleep, and take supplements for muscle growth – but things just aren’t working the way you’d like… right?

Your muscles are flat, your recovery is taking forever, and you just don’t feel like your energetic self.

You might even be suffering so much that you have weak erections, or worse still, you have no sexual desire at all – this is a bad place to be.

Technically you can build muscle while stressed (or in a stressed state). This is due to your body experiencing small stresses put upon itself during and after weight training. So yes, you can build muscle while stressed, but stressed out not just physically but also emotionally?… that’s another matter altogether. Acute Stress and Muscle Growth

Acute stress is when your mind and body may be experiencing higher levels of stress over a prolonged period of time – more than recommend.

Like we’ve already discussed, a little stress cannot be avoided when lifting weights for muscle growth, as you’re breaking down muscle to then be re-built with a solid recovery plan.

However, there may be times when we experience too much stress from external sources, either in or out of our control.

Now that you understand what could be holding back your muscle growth, let’s look at the hormones responsible for hindering your progress:

Physical Stress and Muscle Loss

If you’re anything like me, you love the feeling of lifting heavy weights. The confidence it gives you, and the sensation you get after a good workout could be described by some as ‘cumming in the gym every day’ – Arnold Schwarzenegger.

With that said, sometimes it’s easy to get carried away. We might lift too much, or train too frequently – not letting our body’s recover properly, sound about right?

This is a huge factor in muscle loss or wastage, simply because you’re training too hard or too frequently to let your body recover.

As for nutrition, drink plenty of water, eat food that has plenty of colors such as fruits and vegetables, and also lean proteins.

Emotional Stress and Muscle Loss

Now that we’ve covered the damaging effects of too much physical stress, let’s have a look at what emotional stressors have on muscle loss.

While physical stress can burn out your central nervous system, causing cortisol levels to rise, taking you from an anabolic state to a catabolic state, emotional stress has a very similar response.


Lift too much weight, too often without enough recovery time and you’re going to feel like crap…

On the other side of things, if you are constantly stressed out mentally, arguing with your partner, co-workers, the daily grind is taking its toll, then again, cortisol levels will begin to rise.

Good Cop Bad Cop

It’s when your cortisol levels form emotional stress begin to rine to much that testosterone begins to be pushed out of the picture.

You see, when cortisol is present, testosterone is not – both work hand in hand, like a good cop bad cop partnership.

When one comes into interrogating, the other takes a back seat – it’s really that simple.

QUICK TIP: the hormone cortisol is anabolic to fat cell growth, and Testosterone is anabolic to muscle cell growth. Both enable us to grow cells, but which one depends on which hormone is present.


How Cortisol Prevents Muscle Growth

When stressed out, like you’re about the hit the ceiling and tear down the walls, it doesn’t take a doctor to tell you this isn’t good for your health.

When you’re in this state, a steroid hormone is rushing through your body – this steroid hormone is cortisol.

A study published by the EMGO Institute, VU University Medical Center, Amsterdam, the Netherlands said:

“A relationship was found between both morning and evening salivary cortisol and loss of grip strength: participants in the highest quartile of cortisol concentration had a twofold higher risk of loss of grip strength than participants in the lowest quartile.” (01)

This means; those with higher levels of cortisol in their system – the less strength they had. Less strength means a lowered ability to gain muscle.

Hard training is catabolic, in that you inflict damage on your muscles and break them down. But after training, your body almost immediately becomes anabolic and starts healing up that damage. (02)


How Cortisol Creates Fat Mass

Also, another study by the Stanford University School of Medicine in the US found a hormone called Adamts1, is responsible for fat cell growth and formation.

Here’s the interesting part…

This hormone called Adamts1 is secreted by fat cells when cortisol is present. (03)

It’s Adamts1 job to make the body create more fat, both visceral fat (the fat under the skin on organs) and fat on adipose tissue (under the skin).

Taking this information into account, it’s no wonder so many people are overweight as stress levels are on the rise with high pressured jobs and the fast pace society we live in today.

Increase Muscle Growth With Testosterone

But, when you have a lot of cortisol running through your veins, your body works to create more fat cells.

Maybe this was a stress response to protect us from famine when we were hunter and gatherers.

However, in our modern life, cortisol if nothing but a nuisance for muscle growth and healthy testosterone levels.

How To Reduce Cortisol For Muscle Growth

Read carefully; to lower cortisol, you need to lower your stress levels, it’s really that simple.

Do you have bad habits that you know are leading to higher stress levels but you’re doing nothing to change them? Then, it’s no wonder you aren’t building muscle.

Drinking too much coffee, staying up late and not sleeping properly, or living and working in a toxic environment can all have a damaging impact on your testosterone levels.

So, what can you do to lower your stress levels?

The first thing you need to do is highlight all of the things that you might think be causing you stress and make an effort to reduce them, or better still get them out of your life completely.

I’ve put a simple list together for you to follow – as these are the most common causes of stress:

Caffeine raises cortisol, the more caffeine you drink, with additionally added stressors to your day will raise cortisol, making it virtually impossible to build muscle the type of muscle you want.

Spend less time indoors

Staying indoors means less activity, less fresh air, and less vitamin D from the sun. When you go for a walk, bike ride, or just relaxing in the sun you’re allowing yourself to be immersed in nature, which has shown to reduce stress levels. (04)

Remove toxic people from your life

Find yourself arguing over stupid things with your partner all day, or you work in a toxic environment where your co-workers are a pain in the ass… then it might be time to move on. Allowing more positive people to come into your life can help you create balance and ultimately reduce stress. (05)

Eat a balanced diet

But what if your body was surging with testosterone…

Would you then build more muscle? Damn, right you would!

Having more testosterone means more lean muscle mass, stronger erections and a higher sexual drive – along with more self-confidence.

But how does testosterone build more muscle? We’ll get into that now.

The Science: How Testosterone Builds Muscle

A study published by the Department of Neurology, University of Rochester USA showed how testosterone increases muscle mass.

They measured that “muscle mass estimated by creatinine excretion increased in all nine subjects” when given testosterone – highlighting the response testosterone has on muscle formation. (08)

Ingredient Breakdown

D-Aspartic Acid

D-AA is an amino acid. It’s one of the key players in testosterone boosting supplements.

Studies link it to an increase in T levels in men, along with a slight boost in Human Growth Hormone. Research also suggests that fenugreek has the ability to boost sperm quality, too! [2, 3, 4]

It’s definitely a great ingredient. Good job by Novex Biotech here!

(S)-2-Amino-5-guanidino pentanoic Acid HCL

This is just a fancy name for L-Arginine. It’s an amino acid which raises your blood nitric oxide levels. This leads to better pumps in the gym and improved blood flow.

Unfortunately, L-Arginine has a poor oral absorption rate, so there’s not much you can get when you take it in a capsule. So don’t expect your blood flow to improve much with this ingredient!

TestroVax Biotech testosterone booster could’ve featured more effective ingredients than L-Arginine. Such as Boron and Oyster Extract. Scientific evidence suggests that these two are among the most effective natural T-enhancers available. [5, 6]


Now, fenugreek is a great ingredient choice by TestroVax Biotech testosterone booster.

It’s one of the best natural T-enhancing ingredients you’ll find, along with D-AA, vitamin D3, and Oyster. It works not only as a T-booster but also a libido enhancer. Meaning it will boost your sex drive.

A modern study testing the effects of Fenugreek on a group of college students showed how it effectively boosted their testosterone levels by suppressing aromatase, an enzyme that turns testosterone to estrogen (female hormone). [1]

The study lasted for 8 weeks. At the end of the study, the researchers concluded this: “500 mg of daily supplementation significantly affected percent body fat, total testosterone, and bioavailable testosterone compared with a placebo in a double-blind fashion.” – NCBI PubMed

So as you can see, fenugreek helps to not only boost testosterone but also increase strength and reduce body fat. What an ingredient!

However, here’s the bad news: we don’t know fenugreek’s dosage in TestroVax by Novex Biotech. In order for this ingredient to work, you need to take it at dosages between 500mg-1000mg, as you could see from the study above.

For all we know, there could be an amount lower than 500mg in TestroVax Biotech testosterone booster, which wouldn’t give you its full benefits.


Resveratrol is a molecule that’s naturally occurring in grapes and vine. It’s falsely thought to increase lifespan; new studies suggest this isn’t the case.

This wouldn’t be a problem, if it actually had some benefits for testosterone. But it doesn’t have any.

In fact, resveratrol is not only pointless in a testosterone booster, it also reduces the anaerobic capacity in athletes.

I’ve personally noticed a reduction in strength and stamina after taking resveratrol. As a result, my workouts suffered.

Grape Extract Seeds and Skin

TestroVax Biotech testosterone booster has also included Grape Seed extract among its ingredients.

Grape seed extract helps you improve blood flow. It also indirectly reduces blood pressure. However, we have yet to see a study which links it to direct benefits in testosterone levels.

That said, there is one study showing that Grape Seed Extract was successful in blocking aromatase. However, we need more evidence to prove the results of this one study. [7]

Rhodiola Rosea

Rhodiola Rosea is an adaptogenic herb. It helps you to manage stress. One study showed how Rhodiola is quite effective in reducing stress while improving energy levels. [8]

This would’ve been a good choice by TestroVax Biotech testosterone booster – if they had shown the dose.

You see, Rhodiola helps reduce cortisol, a hormone that negatively affects testosterone.

However, since it’s a part of a proprietary blend like the rest of the ingredients, it’s impossible to tell whether it’s effective or not; Rhodiola only works at dosages between 280mg-690mg.


Ironically, Licorice contains an acid that’s shown to reduce testosterone levels.

A modern study found that men who consumed licorice for just one week had their testosterone reduced by 26%! [9] More on this study here; Licorice Consumption and Testosterone in Men.

This is clearly not the best of ingredient choices by Novex Biotech testosterone booster!

Red Clover

If you’re a woman, you may benefit from red clover; it’s shown to benefit females who are going through menopause. [10]

If you’re a man, bad news: this ingredient hasn’t shown to raise testosterone levels.

It’s really worrying to see so many useless ingredients in TestroVax’s proprietary blend.

There’s a high chance that ineffective ingredients such as red clover fill up most of the proprietary blend in Biotech testosterone booster.

This leaves very little room for the ingredients that actually work – making them ineffective.

Damiana Extract

While Damina has been touted as a potent Aphrodisiac for centuries, emerging research shows us that this isn’t the case.

In fact, Damiana holds no benefits related to testosterone or libido at all.

This is another weak ingredient in TestroVax Biotech testosterone booster.

Withania Somnifera (Ashwagandha)

Withania Somnifera, or Ashwagandha is another adaptogenic herb in TestroVax. Similarly to Rhodiola, it helps you combat stress and cortisol, along with reducing fatigue. [11]

However, the optimal dose for Ashwagandha is 6g, spread throughout the day. Since TestroVax’s blend contains 2.7g worth of ingredients, it’s impossible that there’s enough Ashwagandha for it to be effective.

2-Aminoethanesulfonic acid

This ingredient, like many others in this product, shouldn’t be a part of a testosterone booster.

The only benefit that it offers is reducing muscle cramps. And that’s about it.

Schizonepeta Powder

This is a medicinal herb that shows promises in reducing inflammation in the body, which can help you against colds.

Sadly, there’s no study that links it to any testosterone benefits.

TestroVax by Novex Biotech Testosterone Booster Review

When it comes customer reviews, it looks like Biotech testosterone booster doesn’t fare very well in that department either.

The only good thing about TestroVax Biotech testosterone booster is that it contains D-Aspartic Acid and Fenugreek. These ingredients are proven to boost testosterone levels and libido.

However, since they are a part of a proprietary blend, there’s no way to tell if they will work. For all you know, they could be underdosed and ineffective – or the opposite.

Ultimately, it’s up to you to decide whether it’s worth gambling with a proprietary blend. If you like taking risks and aren’t tight on cash, then go ahead.

But if you want safe and effective testosterone enhancers, then think twice before choosing TestroVax by Novex Biotech.

However, experts and scientists are still making new discoveries about this nutrient.

What is Vitamin B6?

Vitamin B6, also called pyridoxine, is one of eight vitamins that belong to the B complex group.

There are actually a number of derivatives of the B6 vitamin. These include pyridoxal 5-phosphate, also called p5p. Along with pyridoxamine and pyridoxal.

All these types of B6 are used by the body every day for countless processes from moving your legs to memorizing the information you learn.

As a supplement, pyridoxal 5-phosphate (p5p) is more expensive than other forms of B6. But it’s also more effective.

Vitamin B6 also affects hemoglobin production. Hemoglobin carries red blood cells everywhere in the body.

Effects of Low Vitamin B6

Most people get just enough vitamin B6 through their diet, so deficiency is not that common.

But whether people achieve optimal doses of this vitamin, is another question. If you lack optimal levels of B6, you could suffer from low testosterone, mood swings, skin rashes, and many other health malfunctions which I’ll explain below.

If you’re deficient in, let’s say, vitamin B12 or folate, there’s an increased chance that you’ll also be deficient in B6. [13]

If you suffer from any digestive, kidney, or liver issues, there’s an increased risk of deficiency for you as well. Other people who are at risk of B6 deficiency include elderly, obese individuals, pregnant women, and regular smokers. [2, 14]

Here are the 6 common signs that you might be vitamin B6 deficient:

Weak Immune System

A strong immune system is imperative to fighting inflammation, infections, and illnesses such as cancer. If you’re deficient in B6, your immune system might get disrupted.

To be more precise, B6 deficiency leads to a reduced production of white blood cells and antibodies which are key to fighting pathogens. [15]

Think this is bad?

It gets even worse…

See, not only does low vitamin B6 leads to low white blood cell count, but it also reduces your body’s ability to produce interleukin-2. A protein that directs the actions of your white blood cells. [16]

B6 is of even greater importance to people who suffer from autoimmune disease. This is a condition where the immune system attacks itself – unable to differentiate healthy cells from pathogens. [2]

To sum it up:

Without optimal levels of B6, your immune system can’t produce enough white blood cells, antibodies, and other defense factors that fight pathogens and infections.

Mood Swings

A lack of B6 can cause mood swings. In more extreme cases of deficiency, it can even cause anxiety, depression, and panic attack episodes. [17]

There’s a good reason why this happens.

You see, vitamin B6 plays a key role in producing a number of neurotransmitters. Such as GABA and serotonin. Both of these brain chemicals are imperative for reducing depression, anxiety, and pain (both physical and emotional).

Experts suggest this is because B6 helps boost neurotransmitter production, resulting in alleviated symptoms of autism and other mental disorders.

Modern studies also suggest that daily supplementation of B6, in the range of 50-80mg, helps reduce irritability, PMS, depression, and anxiety symptoms. [19, 20]

One reason why B6 is so beneficial for these problems is that it helps boost serotonin, which regulates mood. Low vitamin B6 levels lead to mood issues – including depression, anxiety, and irritability. This is because B6 plays a key role in the production of neurotransmitters such as GABA and serotonin, which affect how you feel.

Low Testosterone

Studies show that deficiency in B6 leads to hormonal inbalance.

Specifically, it leads to higher estrogen levels (female hormone), and reduced testosterone.

Since estrogen negatively affects testosterone, elevated levels of the female hormone further reduce testosterone production. Which is a recipe for catastrophe in men.

Consistent supplementation of B6 is shown to bring back optimal levels of hormones within the body – reducing estrogen, while boosting testosterone in men. [7]

To sum it up:

A deficiency in the B6 vitamin is linked to low testosterone, and high estrogen levels.

Skin Redness and Rashes

If you often experience red and itchy skin rashes, it could be due to B6 deficiency.

These skin rashes, also called seborrheic dermatitis, can appear on the back of your neck, forehead, cheeks, and upper chest. It’s easily recognizable – causing swelling, redness, and flaky and itchy skin. [23]

So what does B6 have anything to do with this?

Well, the vitamin plays a role in collagen production. As you might know, collagen is a protein essential for having healthy and youthful skin.

So if your rashes and low collagen are caused by low vitamin B6, consuming enough this vitamin could quickly solve the problem. [24, 25]

To sum it up:

Skin redness and rashes around the neck, face, scalp and upper chest are a common sign of low B6. If that’s the case, consuming enough B6 either through diet or supplementation helps resolve the issue.

Swollen and Sore Tounge

B6 deficiency can cause tongue redness, soreness, and inflammation.

As a result of this condition, papillae (little bumps on the tongue) usually disappear and this results in a glossy-looking tongue. Hence the name of this condition – glossitis.

Glossitis leads to a number of other problems. Such as difficulty swallowing, chewing, and even talking. If a deficiency in B6 is the cause of glossitis, then consuming enough of this vitamin will solve the issue.

However, there are also other nutrients that, when deficient in, can result in glossitis. These nutrients include vitamin B12, folate, and certain trace minerals. [26]

To sum it up:

Vitamin B6 deficiency can lead to a swollen, red, smooth (without any bumps), and inflamed tongue – a condition called glossitis. A deficiency in other nutrients, particularly vitamin B12, can also cause this condition.

Constant Fatigue and Low Energy

If you feel tired more often than you’d like to admit, it could be because your B6 vitamin stores are depleted.

One reason why this happens is because B6 plays a key role in hemoglobin production. As I already mentioned, hemoglobin is responsible for carrying oxygen throughout tissues in the body.

Without enough hemoglobin, your cells will have reduced oxygen levels, leading to less energy and feelings of exhaustion. This could even lead to more serious issues, such as anemia – low red blood cell count.

Studies that looked into B6’s effects on treating anemia showed that the p5p (pyridoxal 5′-phosphate) form of vitamin B6 is the most effective form for treating the issue. [17]

In other cases, treating anemia with the cheaper form of B6, pyridoxine hydrochloride, didn’t result in any improvements.

To sum it up:

A deficiency in B6 leads to a reduced number of red blood cells, which leads to chronic fatigue, and sometimes, anemia. Supplementing with p5p form of vitamin B6 has shown to be more effective at treating anemia than with pyridoxine HCL, which is the cheaper form of the B6 vitamin.

B6 Dosage Guide (How to Supplement)

As a water-soluble nutrient, vitamin B6 dissolves in water and passes through the urine instead of being stored in the body.

In other words, you need to consume enough B6 daily because your body can’t store it for further use.

This makes it crucial to take either a B6 supplement or eat a diet rich in this vitamin. I always recommend getting your nutrients from whole food. It’s always the best option.

Not only do foods contain other essential nutrients, but they are also better utilized by your body since your system naturally knows how to process them.

However, if you’re going to take a supplement with vitamin B6, then make sure it’s of high-quality and comes from a reliable vendor. Also, ensure there are no extra fillers or artificial additives. Try to get a supplement that’s as close to natural as possible.

Daily Dose

If you’re 19 or older, then 1.3mg of B6 is the minimum dosage you need to ingest. However, since supplements are typically less absorbable than whole foods, you need higher dosages than that.

The optimal dosage of B6 in supplements is between 5-20mg daily. The lower dosage range is better for most individuals. However, if you’re seriously deficient, then you might consider upping your dose.

This is nothing to worry, as any excess B6 will get metabolized by your kidneys and excreted through urine.

Is There an Upper Limit?

The safe upper limit for vitamin B6 is 100-1,000mg, depending on the individual.

Make sure to stick to the recommended dosage that’s written on the label to ensure safety and efficacy.
